L'acomiadament! / Our farewell!

Avui  ha estat un dia emotiu per a tots nosaltres, petits i grans: l’acomiadament.

A la classe amb els infants hem compartit el conte de “Le lapin et l’oeuf” i hem esmorzat galetes amb xocolata. Després, els nens i les nenes, per grups, han compartit racons de joc. Finalment, amb el tren de comiat hem pogut tancar la jornada.

Al centre els més grans i adolescents també ens esperaven per desitjar-nos un bon retorn a casa. Molts satisfetes i amb alguna llàgrima als ulls ens emportem un molt bon record.

Agraïm a tots els que heu seguit el blog i heu estat també amb nosaltres!

Today, it was an emotional day for all of us, children and adults: the goodbye.

In class we explained the story of “Le lapin et l’oeuf” to the children and we had a breakfast of chocolate and cookies. Later on, the girls and boys played games groups. Finally, we closed the day by making a human train and singing a song.

In Yamuna’s center, all the children were waiting to wish us a pleasant journey back home. With satisfaction and tears in our eyes, we are aware that we will always have fond memories of this time.

We want to thank all of you who have followed our blog and have been with us during this experience!

 

L'aula de pre-escolar ja fa camí! / The presschool classroom is on its way!

Avui s’ha inaugurat l’escola!

Mireu quin goig que fan els nous alumnes amb les seves bates noves! Aquests seran la primera promoció de la nova escola.

I de la feinada en organitzar la classe?

Com podeu veure tothom hi ha posat el seu gra de sorra amb molta il·lusió. Ha estat un dia entranyable!

As you can see, everyone played their part with great enthusiasm. It was a fantastic day!

A punt per començar l'escola / Ready to start the school

Les taules i les cadires han estat pintades en verd, blau, groc i vermell pels nois i noies més grans del Centre Yamuna. / The oldest children from the Yamuna center have painted the tables and chairs in green, blue, yellow and red.

Els plafons fets a mà, estan fets amb cartró i folrats amb ràfia o roba de sac. Serviran per exposar els dibuixos o treballs que  faran els nens i nens a la classe. / The panels are used to provide hanging space for the drawings that the children will do.

Les cortines fetes per les dones del taller de costura, protegeixen de la pols el material escolar. Els jocs han estat classificats i ordenats en els prestatges nous que s'han posat./ The curtains have been made by the women of Yamuna's artisan workplace and they protect the school supplies from the dust. The games have been classified on shelves.

Els cabassos i les capses  per posar joguines i material didàctic els han elaborat en el taller artesanal de Yamuna. / The baskets and boxes will be used to store the teaching materials and the children's toys. They were also made by women from the Yamuna artisan workplace. 

A més a més de l'organització de la classe, cal preparar les programacions de continguts a treballar durant el curs i la planificació de les activitats. / It is important that both the classroom and the teaching schedules are well organized and prepared for the course. 

Cap de setmana a Sante Marie / Weekend in Sante Marie

Aquest cap de setmana hem descansat a Sante Marie, una illa de 57 quilometres de longitud situada al nord-oest de Madagascar. Durant aquesta visita, hem pogut fer una sortida per anar a veure les balenes. Va ser impressionant quan una balena de 15 metres i 3 tones de pes amb el seu balenó es passejava a tres o quatre metres de la nostra embarcació. Entre el juliol i el setembre aquesta illa rep centenars de balenes geperudes ja que és un pas migratori de l’Antàrtida cap a les aigües més càlides de la baia d’Antongil, on hi passen els mesos d’hivern.

This weekend we had a rest in Sante Marie, a 57 kilometre long island located the north-east of Madagascar. During our time there, we went to see whales. It was really impressive when a 15 meters, 3 ton whale was swimming with her baby nearby our little boat. Between July and September this island receives hundreds of whales since it is a migration stop from the Antartic sea to the warmer waters of the bay of Antongil, where they spend the winter months.

La vida en el centre Yamuna / Life in Yamuna's center

Aquests dies després de la formació estem organitzant i preparant el que serà el pre-escolar a Mandrosoa. Hi ha encara força coses a fer: organitzar i preparar les aules per quan arribin els alumnes, comprar el material escolar necessari pel curs, organitzar armaris, pintar taules i cadires, plastificar material per protegir-lo de la pols, encarregar les bates, estovalles, tovallons i cortines al taller de costura que porten a terme les dones a Yamuna, etc. 

I sobretot, planificar els continguts de les diferent àrees (llenguatge, matemàtiques, medi natural,...) i activitats que es portaran a terme durant el curs. Aquesta feina l’estan portant a terme amb molt d’entusiasme la Tahina, la Fanja i el Gabriel, els nous responsables del primer any d’escola.

Mentrestant la vida al centre Yamuna continua.

Recently, we have been organizing and preparing things at the new school of Vontovorona. There is still quite a lot to do: organize and prepare the classroom because the students will be arriving soon, buy the necessary school materials for the course, organize the closets, paint the tables and the chairs and, laminate certain materials to protect them from dust, etc.

  

Above all, we have to plan the content for the different subject areas (language, mathematics, environment,…) and what activities will be carried out during the course. This work is being done with great enthusiasm by Tahina, Fanja and Gabriel, the new leaders of the first year of school.

Meanwhile life continues at the center of Yamuna.

 

 

Entrada de Yamuna i el nou edifici en construcció. Cada dia es pot veure com avança la nova construcció. Aquest nou edifici es va iniciar al mes de maig i estarà acabat al Setembre. Tindrà dues habitacions pels nois de 13 a 18 anys i un despatx per la directora del centre i un altre per l'administratiu.

This is the entrance to Yamuna and the new building under construction. Every day we can see the progress of the construction. This building will have two bedrooms for children between 13 and 18 years of age and two offices, one for the center's manager and the other for those responsible for the administration.

A la cuina l’activitat no para; les cuineres quan no estan fent olles d’arròs, fan iogurts o magdalenes en aquest forn de carbó.

In the kitchen the activity never stops; the cooks make pots of rice, yoghurt, potatoes, and muffins baked in a coal furnace as you can see in this image.

 

En el safareig s’hi poden veure nens i nenes fent bugada. Grans i petits renten la seva roba personal o les sabates.

In the laundry space you can see children doing their laundry. Children and adults wash their own personal clothes and shoes.

 

La base dels àpats és l’arròs. Els infants abans d’entrar al menjar s’han d’haver rentat les mans i fan una fila per entrar en silenci. És digne d’admirar l’ordre i la tranquil·litat que hi ha durant l’àpat.

The base food for the area is rice. Children wash their hands before going to eat, and they enter the room in a row in-silence. The order and tranquility during every meal is worthy of admiration.

 

Tot i que en aquest moment no tots els nens estan al centre perquè molts estan de vacances, els que hi són s’entretenen jugant amb pedretes, xanques o joguines fetes per ells mateixos.

Currently not all the children are at the center because many are on vacation. Those who are at the center entertain themselves by playing with pebbles, stones or toys that they have made themselves.

 

Alguns nens i nenes fan deures i algunes activitats d’escriptura encara que siguin vacances.

Some children do homework and writing activities even though they are on holiday.
